All of this film was being adaptable to the rhythms and the narrative of the participant.
As a focus of a portrait of somebody who is addressing violence in the African-American community or gun violence specifically, that has the potential to invite audiences to allow them to live an experience, as opposed to be informed about an experience.
I prefer to put my camera on my shoulder and watch life as it unfolds.
I invite you, the viewer, to hopefully be ready to get up out of your chair and to engage.
It's critical that Americans recognize the murders that are occurring in communities that may not be their own.
We should not live in a society where our citizens are being killed unnecessarily.
